MEQ1 Quota arrangements between 2 suppliers

Hello friends,

we are testing using quota arrangements for material in Purchasing. We want to split between vendors X1 and X2. We are now trying Lot Size ZE with rounding of 1.Ideally we want vendor X2 to supply 4 per week and X1 to supply the balance. We have been using MEQ1 to manage the quota.

Ideally this is not a % quota. We want supplier X2 to be a defined fixed quantity (e.g. 4) and supplier X1 to supply the balance (dynamic) of the weeks requirements. So if the requirements were for the next 6 weeks 7, 8, 9, 10, 4, 5 we would want X2 to supply 4 each week and X1 to supply 3, 4, 5 ,6, 0, 1.

Can you tell me how to manage this please. And is it possible to this?

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR HELP!!!!

Hello

Yes, this is possible. In the quota arrangement, there is a field called Maximum Released Quantity and you should set it as 4 for your supplier X2. You can defined the period as a week and you can even define a number of periods to have this arrangement valid.

Dear Caetano,

thank you so much for your advice! 🙂

Unfortunately, I have not worked with quotas before =(
Can I clarify something about your answer, please?

1) Correctly, I understand that I need to set "Maximum Released Quantity" = 4 for the supplier X2, for supplier X1 this field will be empty. And the value of the "Allocated Qty", "in %" does not affect this at all. It's right?

2) "You can defined the period as a week and you can even define a number of periods to have this arrangement valid" -

only for supplier X2?

THANK YOU in advance and have a good day!

Best regards,
Annet.

Hello Annet

I believe that the percentage and the allocated quantity will play a role when the quantity is smaller that the maximum quantity. I did not test it, but you can test in your system.

You will only define the periods for the supplier for which the maximum released quantity will be relevant.
