I need to know if I can restart ABAP stack only while keeping the j2ee engine upin SAP XI?

what's your O/S?
On Microsoft you can use the Management Console (MMC) to restart the ABAP Stack. We can also restart the ABAP Stack in the Cluster Adminisatrator.

Thats right. My idea was also the same. But I am not sure
why we can't do that. If I am not wrong we can't access the java side from ABAP if we do that.
Could you elaborate in detail.
