Crystal Report SP 26 for Visual Studio

Hi

Is there any news regarding Crystal Report SP 26 for Visual Studio 2019. With SP 25 there are issues. The IDE of Visual Studio is hanging and field level context menu is also not opening. Due to these issues when I re-installed SP 24, it disturbed the work done in VS 2017. Now Crystal Report designer is not opening in GUI format. It is showing binary data in both VS 2019 as well as in VS 2019.

Don't use the Embedded Report Designer built into Visual Studio and download a Trial version of the full version of CR Designer from here:

https://www.sap.com/products/crystal-reports.html

We don't patch CR for VS so only option is to use the full build of CRD or wait until September.

Hi Don!

Any news about SP 26 release date?

It seems they've just released SP26 today, 2 months later than originaly (better late than never!)

I happened to find a temporary fix "by mistake": Visual Studio 2019 / Report Designer / SP25: when you do any operation (right click, menu click, combobox click) and the menu is not opening, the UI is not responsive anymore, etc,...

>> JUST TRY TO PRESS THE <CTRL> CONTROL KEY on your keyboard!!!

For me, in that moment, the UI is responsive again, the contextual right click menu is shown, the combobox list is shown, the menu is shown.

I know, it's so stupid, I have not found any explanation for this. Give it a try and please leave a feedback here! Just press ONCE, the CTRL key... No combinations, just the CTRL key...

SP 26 won't be out until September some time...

Do a repair install of VS first and then repair CR for VS.
