System Refresh with partial data

Hi Guys,

I want to perform the system refresh activity for BW development system from BW production system as a source, my question is that can we perform a refresh with the data for last 2 years only instead of performing the refresh for with the full database backup? can it be possible? if yes please guide me how to proceed.

Hello,

I think it is possible with SAP approved partner system refresh software, for example, TDMS or Attunity

Attunity Replicate and Attunity Gold Client move data onto the right SAP platform.

As Diego mentioned you can use 2 years old DB to restore your system that is your LAST option.

Is it possible like normal backup restore method?? we dont want to use any external tool. Moreover can you help me with the BW specific steps that need to be carried out in addition to normal refresh process??

Hi,

I think this is impossible, because the data will be inconsistent. But if you have and old full backup, you can use it with less data of the actual full backup.

Hi Diego, thanks for the comment but as you suggested if we restore with the older full backup say a full backup till Jan 2016 then the system data will be upto Jan 2016 not the recent one, here we need recent data not older than 2 years, may be from 2016 but not upto 2016.
