Interacting with Variants logic at selection screen

Hello everybody,

this is the situation where i need some advice.

I have developed a report using standard selection screens (Generated 1000 dynpro). At this report i have added a subscreen which does hold a table (Grid Control). The requirement is, when saving a variant the values of the table have to be saved as well.

This does lead me to the question i have. Is it possible to hook up with the standard functionality when saving a variant and add custom coding somewhere? (kinda User/customer Exit) or something?
