Hi Experts!

Our client is planning to integrate SAP Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence 15.0 with IDM 7.2 but there's no Standard connector available as per SAP. Is it possible to create a custom connector? Has anyone perform the same integration and any guides you can share for this activity?

Hi Ken,

I don't know anything about this module, but it should be possible to create something using the standard framework. Is it a JAVA or ABAP application? That would be an important starting point.

Most likely it should not be a significant issue.

I am curious as to what the purpose is to integrate IDM with MII. What tasks or solutions do they intend to accomplish for this integration?
Oftentimes, there is no need for additional integration points with MII. Either they can accomplish those same tasks without doing the integration or there is not really a good business reason (once they sit down and determine their true needs) for doing so.

Example: Integrating PI (Process Integration) with MII to do data movement. If they already have PI in their system landscape, fine. If they do not, then it is an unnecessary (and cumbersome) extra step in the communication stream.

Cheers, Mike

I would suggest you check first if the application is an ABAP Based or Java Based, from that you can use the existing hook tasks from the PVs. I am not against of creating a connector but if it is an SAP product and don't have a standard connector there should be only two reasons on why there isn't which is either the application can relatively run through current connectors or it is just a new product and development is still on its way.

If further manipulation of data is needed like additional requirements, you would need to write a script to manipulate the data but if it is a simple provisioning of users it should be attainable without doing any customization or creating client based versions of the currently available tasks.

MII uses the standard Netweaver Role/action based security. I imagine you should be able to integrate/manage this with IDM ootb. Research from a Netweaver perspective as MII is at its core just a Java application running on top.

Hi,

I think SAP MII is ASJAVA.

Try ASJAVA connector.
