Experts,
100% of Planned Orders are created in APO and we expect changes to planned between APO and ECC to be in sync real time.
Do I really need an integration model for Planned Orders If I maintain Publication Settings for In-House Production?
Are both needed?
What does in-house production entry mean in /SAPAPO/CP1? Does it mean both planned orders and process orders? (In fact there is no separate entries for the same). What kind of documents (ATP categories) does 'In-House Production" 'Publish' to ECC?
What is /SAPAPO/CP1 is completely blank. Means no entries exist.
Thanks
Amit
Some confusing Excerpts from SAP help. It says I MUST maintain publication type.
"For all objects that have been generated in SAP APO and are now to be transferred to SAP R/3, the distribution definitions for the relevant publication type MUST have been defined. Distribution definitions do not necessarily have to be defined for objects that have only been changed in SAP APO"
"For the publication types listed below, changes to documents that originate in SAP R/3 can be transferred to SAP R/3 without a distribution definition. SAP APO transfers these documents back to the SAP R/3 system from which they originate. In this case, the information about the SAP R/3 system from which they originate is saved when the documents are initially transferred from SAP R/3 to SAP APO (lookup information).
A distribution definition is not necessary for the following publication types:
Sales order
In-house production
External procurement
Production campaign"
For all other publication types, SAP APO is unable to determine a target system unless a distribution definition is entered. That means that the objects concerned cannot be transferred to SAP R/3 even if they originate in SAP R/3. These objects are:
Confirmation for scheduling agreement
Planned independent requirement
Shipment
Delivery
Planning file entry (IS Automotive)
Confirmation (IS Automotive)
Confirmation of deletions (IS Automotive)
Reporting points (IS Automotive)
Reservations"
(no mention of Planned order or Production order here)
Hello,
Both are needed, publication setting and CIF active integration model.
It is necessary to maintain the entries for the corresponding plant, Publication type = 'In-House Production AND the receiving ECC system. which will transfer the planned order generated in APO to ECC system. CIF active integration model for Planned order is to transfer the planned order from ECC to APO. As planned order generated in APO with local number then it goes to ECC and updated in APO with ECC number.
APO is the default scheduling leading system and that means that every order coming from R/3 system will be scheduled in APO and the new scheduled dates will be sent to R/3 in order to make the system consistent. In order to send the data back to R/3 system, the publication settings has to be maintained. Execute T-code /SAPAPO/CP1 in APO system
In-house production entry mean both planned orders and production/process orders.

Thanks a ton Rupesh
Crystal Clear
We both should re-write SAP help documentation and I bet even 5th graders can understand it.
Thanks
