Dear Colleagues,
I need your help in order to know why PIRs aren't reduced when a confirmation (movement 261) is performed for a ROH Material. The case is that we are using strategy 70, and when a Production Order for an upper material (FERT) is created, then a reservation is also created for the ROH Material. In this case, PIRs are consumed so the quantity in PIRs decreases due to the reservation is consuming it. But, when we perform a confirmation, then the PIR is not reduced so the quantity in the PIR do not change. Therefore, it is useless.
I kindly need suggestions and advice from your side.
Thanks and Kind Regards
Issue Solved 🙂
According to SAP Note 68641.

Hello,
For subassembly planning with final assembly (planning strategy 70), planned independent requirements (requirements type VSFB) are consumed with reservations and dependent requirements.
Please check the mixed MRP indicator setting in MRP 3 view.

Hi,
PIR will not change but will not create any order for the month until issued the fert qty. You have to change or remove the PIR manually. PIR needs to be deleted once its requirement is fullfilled. Generally enery month end the PIR will be deleted or updated. Demand will work like this.

Hi,
Strategy 70 is very similar to Planning with Final Assembly (40). However, planned independent requirements are consumed by production order requirements (or schedule lines in repetitive manufacturing) and not to requirements of sales orders.
Dependent demand of finished material will consume the planned independent requirements of assembly. Check the following links will provide more info.
