Can I use SAP Identity Authentication Service to authenticate an openUI5 app deployed in apache

Hello SCN friends,

I'm developing an app in openUI5 and this app is deployed in apache for running locally in the company where I work, and I'm looking for a service for authenticating my users, and I would like to know if I could use the SAP Identity Authentication service to do this, I have heard about many third party services like okta and auh0, but here we already have this service for some applications in the cloud (SAP Identity Authentication), so I need to know if I could use it with this app that is not hosted in SAP Cloud Platform. There is not much information about this in internet.

Thank you in advance.

Jhon Jairo.

Hi Jhon,

SAP Identity Authentication is a SAML 2.0 compliant Identity Provider, so if the application supports SAML, you can use IAS as IdP, even if it's not running on SAP CP. Since it's an HTML5 application, most probably you'll have to look for some SAML solution for Apache.

Best Regards,
Lucas

I really appreciate your help Lucas, you have given to me a new path to investigate this, thank you very much, with this I don't have to modify my app, pretty awesome. Just one additional question, could I connect IAS with my active directory user store? if you have some links to do this please I'll appreciate you send me information.

Kind regards.

Jhon Jairo.

Yes, you can connect IAS to MS AD. For this scenario, you'll need a Cloud Platform account, and a Cloud Connector installed in the on-premise infra. Have a look at this guide:
