CJ40 annual WBS cost planning without cost elements and need the same for CJR2

Hi Experts,

Currently we are updating Annual Cost Planning in CJ40 without cost elements.

The requirement is to update using excel or copy paste the values to save time.

What we understood that, we can not copy paste values in CJ40

So we would like to use CJR2, however it is asking for cost elements.we dont want to use cost elements.

How to achieve this. I went through SCN however there is no clear response.

Thanks and Regards,

Udaykumar P.P.

    Hi Udaykumar,

Cost element is mandatory in CJR2, so you need to create at least one dummy account exclusively for planning. Or use any other real account as default.

I am quite sure at some point you will realise a need to use multiple cost elements.

If you go for a custom layout, probably you can default the account and hide the field too. Check Painter/Writer functionality.

    • Hi Udaykumar,

The budget in SAP does not have a cost element characteristic, not even a period characteristic, but only FY.

The second transaction you mentioned is for use with Investment Management, the first one is without Investment Management.

It is quite significant difference to use or not to use IM, so I would assume your process design must be in a very initial stage...

    Hi Udaykumar,

How many levels of WBS you are using ? if you want to plan at level 2 means you can copy and paste from excel sheet else its difficult to do planning using excel sheet.

In CJR2 planning, Cost elements are mandatory as its as detailed cost planning at WBS with cost elements with/without actives.else you need to develop new program to upload planned cost along with cost elements.

If you don't want to maintain manual cost, then you can go with Network activity planning by adding required Materials/Services/Unplanned costs at activity levels.

    Regards,

    Venkatesh
