Hi Nirav,

I hope you installed MDM Server, Console and other client components.

1: Start your SQL Server

2: Open your console

3. Mount your server

4. Start your Server

5. Set your DBMS properties.

If you are done with all the above steps, then you can start creating repositories or start unarchiving the standard repositories that come with your MDM installation.

Please refer to <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_mdmgds55/helpdata/EN/index.htm">MDM Documentation</a> for further details.

Regards,

Rajani Kumar

Yes. I am just new at MDM and want to install it and make all the mistake to learn it. I think MDM has a great future and I am getting more and more interested.

Hi,

DBMS Settings:

1. Make sure the SQL Server is running.

2. From the MDM Console, right click the on the mounted server and select DBMS Settings.

a. Select the DBMS Server

b. SQL Server username. This user should have DBA rights. In case of sql server you use "sa" in place of user id. And type the password.

c. then it will prompt for Data path and all. Accept the default values.

You can refer to the link provided by Rajani, which has step by step instructions.

Thanks and Regards

Nirav,

Once you have your MDM Server in place, follow the instructions provided by me in my previous post to start creating/unarchiving repositories. Please go through the documentation once before moving forward.

Hi Nirav,

start the console, mount the MDM server. Type localhost in the dialog box. also make sure that oracle is installed properly , i think if oracle is not installed on the same machine as MDM server then this machine should atleast have the oracle client installed.

What all MDM components have you installed on your machine

If you installed MDM server and MDM Console on the same machine.

In the Console, while mounting the server just give <b>localhost</b> and try.

Thanks

Thank you Rajani Kumar.

I used cdphl246 and vgphl101 as the server name based on the installation guide. The message I get is the network path could not be found. I have not set the slave and master data do I need to do that first.
