Access SAC stories using OAuth 2.0 and SAML SSO auth mode requests HANA -DB user/password

Hi, experts!

We are trying to embed SAC stories in our web portal using this guide as basis for configuration (SAP Analytics Cloud APIs: Getting Started Guide), but we've encountered two issues (that I believe that are related):

1) Our SAC stories and models are using a HANA live connection with SAML SSO authentication, and all the steps described in SAC Help Page (Live Data Connection to SAP HANA Using a Direct Connection and SSO) were done. Nevertheless, every first time access to the story via SAC the HANA user/password is required (after the initial login with SAC user). If you end your session, close the browser and open it again, HANA user/password is required again. It shouldn't happen as it is SAML SSO, right?

2) The same problem happens in our embedded web portal. If you type in HANA user/password on the first time, the data is shown. Otherwise, it keeps asking for HANA user/password:

Does anyone know how to solve this?

------

At last, I have one doubt: What's the difference between 'None' and 'User/password' authentication options in connection settings for live direct connections? The behaviour that SAML SSO is presenting as I said earlier is exactly like 'None' option.

Kind regards,

Michel Leme

Hi Michel,

It indicates the SAML SSO of the HANA Connection in SAC is not configured successfully if the HANA logon prompt shows.

One import prerequisite is you can login using the same IDP user that you use to log into SAC when accessing the link https://<HANAServer>//sap/bc/ina/service/v2 in the browser directly.

The option None is used for other SSO methods that HANA supports except SAML2 such as X509. More information, you can refer this blog: https://blogs.sap.com/2017/05/11/introducing-direct-authentication-as-a-new-sso-option-for-boc-live-...

Ivan
