Analysis for Office - Where are comments stored in an SAP BW Deployment ?

Hello:
If one is using AfO, only deployed on SAP BW/NetWeaver where are the comments stored? Or is the BusObjects Plattform (BIP) a pre-requiste for comments in Afo?
