Adding Financial Plans in CPM S/4HANA 1809

Hi Experts,

I would like to know if it is possible to add cost and revenue from multiple financial plans to single financial plan,

All these financial plans link to same master project and all the financial plans are created for Bid structure.

Thanks

Akhil

Hi Akhil,

Explore the functionality of " Single Plan" and "Multiple Plan" for same .

Based on the type of financial plan set for the master project type in Customizing, the system creates one of the following financial plans:

  • Single

In this type, all the objects assigned to the master project structure are included in the structure for planning.

  • Multiple

In this type, the system allows you to create separate financial plans for a master project. These plans can be created for one business object or a group of selected business objects.

In your case Multiple plan approach can be implemented.

Hi Akhil,

your approach described above should work.

If the bid structure elements from F1 and F2 should be taken over 1:1 to F3 then you can also simply use the "Copy From…" button on the bid structure screen. Then you do not have to manually create the bid structure elements for F3. And you do not have to do the mapping of the structure elements during the "Copy from Reference" process.

Hi Akhil,

in the financial plan on the bid structure screen there is a "Copy" button. With this function you can copy bid structures (including plan line items) into the the current financial plan.

Another option is the "copy with reference" functionality.

Hi Martin,

You are correct, I have also thought of using 'Copy with reference' functionality. Let me elaborate here my approach.

I will create let say three Financial Plans, F1,F2 and F3. All these financial plans refer to same master project. As bid estimation would involve planning by project managers from individual business unit(as multiple BUs will involve in executing the single project) therefore Financial plan F1 will have bid structure with single structure element representing a Business Unit 1(let us name it as BU1), Similarly Financial Plan F2 will have bid structure with structure element BU2(another business unit) and financial Plan F3 will have bid structure with 2 structure elements as BU1 & BU2. Individual Project manager will do cost/revenue estimation for their respective financial plan F1 & F2(this we can control through Teams and responsibility...correct??).

Finally, we need to copy plans from financial plans F1 & F2 to financial Plan F3. To do this I will use 'copy from reference' option inside F3, first I will take reference of F1 and link Structure element BU1 from F1 with BU1 of F3 and copy plan items and Save it. After that ,I will take reference of F2 and link structure element BU2 from F2 with BU2 of F3 and copy plan items and save it.

I believe by doing this.. I will get plans from F1 and F2 copied to F3. .And later on once we have commercial project structure in place we can map and transfer the planning from financial F3 to commercial Project structure.

Please let me know is my understanding and approach correct.

Thanks.

Hi Akhil,

I believe what you are asking is copying different financial plans to one.

As far as I know you will not be able to do that. You will be only copy a financial plan. Please keep posted the update in case you found any solution or work around.

Yes Pramod. I am looking for an option where cost and revenue from different financial plans can be copied to single financial plan.

Let say I have planning done against Financial Plan F1, F2 & F3. Now I want to copy all the plans to Financial Plan F4. While copying cost and revenue from different financial plans should get added in Financial Plan F4 instead overwriting.
