Public Dimension as a security provider for Multiple imported data models in SAC

Hi,

Can we make use of a public dimension as a security proivder for multiple models.

1.When I try to import excel data which consists of ids and description and also dimension preference's READ / Write IDs (use of security of a Model) , the SAC public dimension is accepting only first and second columns that is ids and description and ignoring the read/write ids.

When I include this public dimension in to the Import data model which is a BW query , the daily scheduling is failing since the public dimension is not a part of BW query.

The requirement is to make use of the public dimension once which has READ and Write (IDs of the Responsible users who has access to model for specific regions or territories) and use this for multiple Imported Data Models in SAC to reduce effoft to change the ids in each model.

Would like to know if we can achieve this in SAC.

2.At present , for each model , I am using dimension preferences while creating model for the specified Region/Territory field which is coming from BW query and manually adding or deleting sap user ids for couple of models.

Would like to know if 2nd approch is correct or can we achieve same feature with 1st approch.

Hi,

We have used Public Dimensions throughout our models and leveraged setting the Security built of it.

You need to create Teams assign Teams to Users and then assign Teams to the relevant Hierarchy in the Public Dimension.

Given that maintenance will only be needed if additional nodes are added, maintenance is relatively simple.

Alternatively you could go with AD Authentication.
