Roadmap for sap.m.Table and sap.ui.table.Table

SAPUI5 offers two table/grid controllers — sap.m.Table and sap.ui.table.Table. Both of them have pro & contra, but when you work with them, quite fast you will find yourself thinking that for optimal result/UX you need the power & flexibility of both controllers together.

The most painful point is that sap.m.Table doesn't support such essential functionality for any table as data sorting by clicking on a column, I'm not talking already about searching/filtering.

My question:
Are there any plans to merge these two controllers, or at least harmonize their functionality scope?

Smart table has the exact feature you are asking for. hopefully they might provide the same features to m.table in future. You can click on the columns and check in the below link.

maheshkumar.palavalli, unfortunately, sap.ui.comp.smarttable.SmartTable is not a part of OpenUI5, but SAPUI5 only.
