SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Author Flip Surfaces QUERY

I have downloaded SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Author and we are very impressed and interested in purchasing a seat. However we have tried importing a number of models in from Creoview and Rhino as .stp and .iges files, and found that we cannot see meshes or select individual surfaces to ‘flip’ them when they are inside out (we are very reliant on the models coming from our customers).

I have seen the tutorials, and the tools to use, but the required selection tools simply are not in the menu bars.

The models are coming in with all of their metadata, surfaces etc.

The ability to select individual surfaces and flip the backward faces is crucial to our purchase of this software, so I hope you can assist.

Hi Steve,

Have you tried toggling the import options?

You can try importing files with surfaces 'ON' under 'Tessellation Settings' and 'Geometry Settings'.

STP and IGES files behave differently based on the software used to export them. Alternatively, you can try converting STP and IGES files to other formats and then import them in SAP VEA.
