Transport of PCA BC

Former Member

Hello,

I'd like to transport my new report + everything before. The data source should be 0EC_PCA_3 and the cube is ZPCA_C03.

Which way would be the most clever one to transport this? I cannot do it the usual way (cube + everything before) since the info source incl. transfer rules will not be included.

Thanks,

Fredrik

Hi Fredrik,

Why do you say that you cannot collect objects starting with cube and everything before?

I guess it's becuase I have created this cube manually and it doesn't feel the connection with the infosource since it's not standard. In usual cases the infosource + transfer rules get included in cube transport with everything before...

Fredrik,

That should not be the case because after all it is the entire dataflow. Check to see if you have the update rules created between the InfoSource and the Cube. If you have Cube > Update Rules > InfoSource > Transfer Structure > Transfer rules set up for this cube, then it should all be collected.

Hope this helps...

hi Fredrik,

try to use cube zpca_c03 as starting point,

rsa1->transport connection->'object type' in left panel, middle panel choose 'infocube' and 'select objects' and choose zpca_c03 and 'transfer'. it will then go to right panel. set collection mode to 'manual', and grouping 'only necessary objects' and 'execute'. after objects collection finished, create request.

then do the same for grouping 'in dataflow before', here make sure your source system is marked when click 'source system assignment', after objects collection finished, expand infocube and make sure update rules, transfer rules, datasource etc are there and marked. create another new request. last, repeat the same for grouping 'in dataflow afterward', this will collect report/query etc.

take a look transport tips doc

https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/3010ba90-0201-0010-2896-e58...

hope this helps.

I did exactly this, and the export goes well. But unfortunately the transport ends up in status grey in STMS in test system. Why is this?

Like I asked in your other post on the same subject: Did you check that the datasource has been transported on the source system side, and replicated before you sent the BW transport? Also did you check the transport logs in the BW dev system?

hi Fredik,

what's the return code ? 8, 12 ?

in stms, cursor position on the request and menu view transport log something, check detail log there, expand node with error (red). and let's know the error message.

  • make sure you have maintain 'source system mapping' already, check this in TARGET system (bw QA/Prod), rsa1->tools->source system mapping (tcode rslgmp), 'orgsrce..' = r/3 DEV source system and 'trgsrc..' = r/3 QA/Prod.

hope this helps.

Yes, the data source has been transported on source system side + I replicated it in BW test before the cube + eb transport.

The transport log in BW dev gives a return code 4 (warning) due to some missing objects whcih I have no use for. So that should not be any problem.

Perhaps I shouldn't transport the data source on the BW side..? This gets available in BW test anyway by transport on R/3 side and replication in BW test.

Best regards,

Fredrik

Yes, I have the mapping between the systems...

Bu why are the imports in STMS in grey? What does this mean? In the log in STMS it only says that selection for import is successfully started.

In the sender system, I get a return code 4 (warning abaout some objects which are not vital).

Now I did an import of the transport in STMS in BW test even though it was grey. It now imports for example the cube, but it doesn't activate it.

+ the transport symbol is now stuck in "truck"-mode.

Hmm...

Status Grey seems to mean "request is after end-mark"...

I have no idea what this is about... Do you?

I'm very thankful for this conversation!

Best regards,

Fredrik

dear Fredrik,

request that already imported will have status with a checkmark icon.

There are four levels of statuses

1. 0 – no errors, objects were imported successfully

2. 4 – warnings, objects were imported successfully

3. 8 – errors, some objects may have been imported

successfully

4. 12 – errors, no object was imported successfully

yours is 4, so it should have been imported sucessfully.

hope this helps.

Hello,

Yes, it seems to be imported successfully! I'm just curious why the import ends up "after end of request list" in STMS... (grey icon)

Thanks for your help!!!
