Hi all,

Iam new to this BW community,

could u plz help me i have few questions.

1. we r developing around 15 reports in BW for SD,MM(inventory,Material Movements,Stocks), data is to be extracted from R/3, they already have few reports for this in ABAP(customized fields from diff. tables), but we need to make some changes along with that in BW.After verifying Business contents,these are not feasible. How can we configure them, create from the scratch or enhance those BC which nearly matches.

2. Is it possible to load single data target from multiple infosources.

3. There are reports in R/3 but after that we add few fields manually after storing them in Excel.How can we overcome this prob while developing BW reports. Do u suggest to amend these reports in ABAP or can we develop new reports in BW without entering manually later on.

    Hi dear and welocme on board!

    1.The best approach is to use the std content as much as possible...clearly, if you find that std objects dont' fit with your requirements, create your own object, but I strongly suggest to you to install anyway std objects and to use them as template (since, especially for logistic flows, there are a lot of useful update rules that you can re-use with no additional effort!)

    2.Sure !

    3.In BW you need to create on your system this "additional" info...anyway, don't forget that BEx report are excel based, so you can always keep on doing what already in use (anyway, I suggest to you to define a rule in your report and to fill by your system what you need!)

      Yes these fields carry out to till Datasource but not to BW.For the fields which you created in R/3 side You should have correspanding fields in BW to map in Transfer structure. If you don't find suitable objects in BW you have to create custome InfoObjects and map these fields into R/3 fields.

    See whether standard extractors will help you with little enhancements rather than building from scratch. That is the best approach.

    Yes you can load Data Target from multiple sources.

    You can do the same enhancement in BW also.
