Actual Costing migration from SAP Legacy System to S4 HANA system - Two different Systems

Hello Gurus,

We have a scenario where we have a legacy SAP system with Material Ledger and Actual Costing active. Now we will decommission that SAP system and implementing a new S4 HANA system. So when we migrate at the time of Go Live from Old to New system, month end closing cockpit CKMLCP for Actual Costing needs to be executed where normally system post a closing entry at Post Closing step whereby system adjust the price of materials and change the price control to V but also reverses the entry in next period.

Now the issue is what should be the strategy to transfer that closing entry and it's reversal posting in new period. In New system we will start a new period with new standard cost. Should we need to ignore that closing entry during migration. How this will impact the new system with respect to history or year end books.

Please keep in mind this is not conversion in the same system where SAP already has migration steps but it involves two different system one old SAP and other New S4 HANA.

Dear Rohit Goel

Is it green field implementation or brown field? If it is green field approach then you just need to close your month end, revaluate all the materials and calculate PUP price, ignore the reversal entry for new period and then uploaded actual values of all your materials in new S4 Hana. In S4Hana when you run again cost estimate for your finished and semi finished materials, system will maintained a new standard price for all the materials.

Hi, i have a case with greenfield approach, price determination 3, control price S for raw materials, is there any way to migrate PUP for beginning inventory of raw materials in new S4 system by using ending inventory PUP from old ECC system after closing entries, so my question is how and where we can upload values for CKMLCR-PVPRS for beginning inventory of specific raw material with price control S in the new system.
