Tableau using SAP byDesign as a datasource

I am working with a client who uses the Excel ByDesign plugin and also has a big investment in Tableau.

They are looking at ways to use the Financial data in byDesign to create live visual reports with Tableau.

However other then the OData API, we are not finding much information on how to connect byDesing to Tableau as a datasource compared to SAP Hana for example.

Any help or direction would be appreciated

Hi Mike,

If you are after live report, then connect Tableau to ByD via OData is the only option here. Tableau support OData v1 to v4. https://onlinehelp.tableau.com/current/pro/desktop/en-us/examples_odata.htm
