Hi All,
I have to create quite a few Custom CDS views and Custom Analytical Queries for reporting purposes but find it hard to find where (CDS views) the data I see at the "front-end" actually resides in the "back-end".
For example, if I wanted to create a Custom CDS view that joins Project data with Transactions data, how would I know which out of the box CDS views to use and join together? Is there perhaps a data model somewhere out there? That would make my life alot easier!!
Help would be greatly appreciated
I have come to realise that no such thing as a "data model" exists for SAP S/4HANA Cloud.

Hi Nem,
Details about the SAP S/4HANA Cloud virtual data model can be found here:
Besides, the app View Browser is helpful to search, browse and navigate within CDS views:

Hi Mathias,
thank you kindly for your answer!
I have taken a look at the Virtual Data Model but unless I missed it, I am not sure how this can help me. I am after a data model like the example below:
I was aware of the View Browser and have used it before but to me it is kind of like "blindly" poking around. We are currently using Dynamics AX 2012 R2 and the business had made the decision to move to SAP S/4HANA Cloud.
In AX for example I can look at something (say Project Name) and right click on it and select "Personalise" and it would actually tell me the table where it is pulling the Project Name from. Hopefully you can see how useful this is in understanding the back-end data from within the front-end.
Does S/4HANA Cloud have something similar to AX?
many thanks!
