Hi Experts,

Is it possible to setup S/4 hana system for personal test on the server basing on X79 series motherboard (only one CPU socket ) with one E5-2697v2 CPU and 8*32GB DDR3 RAM?

Kelvin.

Hello Kelvin,

E5-2567v2 CPU has 12 cores and each core handles 2 threads which means you get 24 logical CPU. I think S/4HANA will work fine with 24 logical CPU.

NOTE: This processor belong to Ivy Bridge EP family which is no longer supported for HANA. But as you are trying to build system for personal use, I think it should not be a problem to play around.

Hello Kelvin,

I don't think you can install S/4HANA on 32 GB RAM as it will run out of memory. Similar question has been answered in below thread

If you want to try your hands-on to understand business use cases, then you should go for 30 day trail of S/4HANA.

Hello Dennis.

Thank you for your reply. Is it ok to install S/4HANA If the server uses 256GB RAM with only one CPU (E5-2697v2). I think the RAM should be OK, but I am not sure if one CPU can run S/4HANA.
