Downloading to application server and the zero after decimal should be displayed

While Downloading a CSV file into the Application server the value 1.10 is displaying as 1.1 this is an index and I have to show it as 1.10 . Tried differed modes in the open data set yet it is showing as 1.1. In this way we will not be able differentiate between 1.1 and 1.10. This works fine in ALV report and uses a character field. Is there any way we can do something to change be 1.10 when we download it as CSV or XLS file using open dataset statement?

Hi,

I guess you are trying to open the CSV file in the Excel . did you tried with Notepad ?

usally when you open the excel it changes the type to number and thus it won't show up the decimal with Zero. try to click on it and check its values.

Hi,

My bet is with Matt as well. When you use excel to provide input data always copy all and paste as values in a fresh sheet, this way the data that you see on screen is the actual data that is going to be processed.

Kind regards, Rob Dielemans

My bet is the software you are using to look at the file once you've downloaded it is transforming the number. If you look at the file through a text editor, you'll find that it does contain 1.10

If you use abap2xlsx to make a true xlsx file, you'll be able to specify the column as character, and preserve the formatting.
