SAP HANA Trial: ES5 Connection is failing with the message "Peer not Authenticated"

SAP HANA Trial:

ES5 Connection is failing with the message "Peer not Authenticated".

Behaviour is the same from WebIDE or Check connection @ Destinations.

When you directly access "https://sapes5.sapdevcenter.com/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui?sap-client=002&sap-language=EN". Browser says it is not secure and when you verify the certificate it says expired, validity was 21 Feb 2018 to 21 April 2019 @"Go Daddy Secure Certificate Authority - G2".

So, I believe this is the reason for failure. Any idea whom to tag here.

I have also sent an e-mail to the support team "rac-support@sap.com". I will update if there a response.

I am also getting the same error. In my case, I am able to login both ES5 SAP GUI HTML and OData link.

Hi Prakash,

I am still not able to connect to ES5 Odata Services from my Demo app.

Although I can access below metadata URL (Service - GWSAMPLE_BASIC) from browser.

https://sapes5.sapdevcenter.com/sap/opu/odata/IWBEP/GWSAMPLE_BASIC/$metadata

Not able to connect to this service from my demo app. It is not taking the credentials.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Manoj

Hi there, I've stumbled upon the same problem while taking "Developing Web Apps with SAPUI5" opensap.com course.

Here is my workaround:

1. Log on to ES5 system with Web GUI with URL: https://sapes5.sapdevcenter.com

2. Accept the warning of the browser:

3. Once you see the Web GUI download the certificate:

I've used the first format available:

4. Go to your SAP Cloud Platform account to "Destinations" section and upload the certificate:

5. Once the certificate is uploaded go to ES5 destination details, unmark "Use default JDK truststore" and explicitly point to the uploaded certificate.

Maybe it's not the nicest solution but it works for me and allows me to carry on with the opensap.com training.

The answer is helpful, but I am unable to mark HELPFUL. It will save us waiting time. Thanks for the information.

Not working for me

Yeah, correct direct login is possible bypassing the invalid certificate. But from WebIDE or HANA Trial Cloud not possible as they will do SSL/TLS handshake and that would be failing, owing to insecure connection because of invalid certificate. SAP support has replied, an Incident is lodged they are checking.

You may take a look at my answer for a possible workaround till SAP fixes the problem, which might not be lighting fast.

I'm also having the same issue whilst calling the services via my demo app. Is there any idea when this will get resolved? It'd be nice to be able to use our demo again.
