We have posted a manual depreciation (Impairment) to an asset (ABC) having a NBV of USD 10,000.00 in a specific assets class in period 12-2017 with amount USD -500.00 by creating a sub assets (333).
In 2018, partial transfer is made in March 2018 a certain amount (USD 500) from the subject Asset is Transferred to a new Asset (XYZ) and subsequently Sub Asset (XYZ-333) USD 25.00.
The Deprecation (Rate 5% Annual) in 2018 should have been as under:
Asset Opening Transfers Dep for the year
ABC 10,000 -500 -475
ABC-333 -500 25 23.75
XYZ 0 500 -25
XYZ-333 0 -25 1.25
But the system has reversed the completed manual depreciation posted (for a particular asset Class) when the depreciation is run for the 2018. What could be the reason for this?
