Unable to Open session with Admin account in Information Design Tool in 4.2 SP 6 Patch 3

Hi there,

I am trying to open session in Information Design Tool with my administartor account and it is given me an error

Communication error occurred when trying to connect to server Myserver name:6400 (FWM01009)

and I can access My CMC and BI Launchpad and also I am not able to Login in Webi rich Client with the same account.

My SAP BO Environment is $.2 SP 6 Patch 3.

Please advice.

issue resolved by assiging a fix request port to CMS, IFRS, OFRS, WACS on both nodes.

Hi Mayank,

You will need more than just 6400 to fix this issue. CMS, IFRS and OFRS processes are involved and they all have request ports as well. The firewall considerations for BI platform are well documented in the Admin guide. You can also access support portal and search for 'firewall considerations' or over google search.

For this issue, the following SAP kbase shows what ports to use for IDT to work properly when facing this error - 1984483

I am able to access the other CMS and All the required ports are open that are required to communicate.

I would like to tell you that my CMS is on UNIX environment.

And i am able to ping the IP address and I have made host entry in host file kept under path

C:\Windows\system32\Drivers\host

in the same line add also: lboxua01 and check if you can ping the BI Server with this name. then use it by logon to CMS

which cluster name are u configured in CMS?

also in CMC check if all BI server are enabled and running?

Please talk to your BO and Network admins , so they can address communication thru firewalls or name resolution issue you are having.
