Hello Experts,

When we create Business User Login, User gets access to all companies created in system.

Is there any easy method of assigning company level access restriction?

Currently I have to select each & every module & manually restrict the access & select required company; which is very herculean task....!

Please suggest.

Regards, Vishal Kambare

Hello Vishal,

you can create the business roles according to your need. Which is then one time set up and serves as template.

Next time when you are creating the user, Assign the required Business role to the user and he will get access only to views/work center assigned in that role.

Another advantage here would be in the business role, Based on the access context defined (SAP delivered) for each view, you have few options to restrict the access.

Let say : general ledger --> Set of books view : Access contex for this view is company.

if you provde unrestricted access, then employee assigned to this role would be able to see all companies data.

If you select restricted access, then you have option like

- Restrict to employee's comapny : which means when employee is created and assigned to particular department / Cost center, system will automatically Identify the company.

So when Business user is created for this employee, system will restrict his/her access to the company where he is assigned. He will not be able to see other companies data.

So if you have multiple companies, system will automatically identofy which company user belongs to and assign access accordingly. This will allow you to assign same role to multiple employee who belongs to different companies and no need to manually change the access restrictions for each employee.

Let me know if you need more detail. you know where to reach me. 🙂

Cheers,

Harshal
