Dear All,
We have a scenario in fashion management system where fabric are manufactured and stored in KG. KG being base unit of measure. Now they issue the manufactured fabric to their operations in rolls. The issuing of fabric is based on machine utilisation.Hence they calculate and issue rolls as per the machine capacity. But ofter it is found that even after calculation the in the confirmation phase they have to manually adjust the rolls as per machine capacity / output. It is here that we are facing the problem. We can see that there is no confirmed/ fixed conversion unit for KG and rolls. For example : I issue 5 rolls which is equal to 10 KG. 1 roll = 2kg. Now during confirmation I change it to 4 rolls but the effective KG remains 10 only for output. This is where we though of introducing proportion production unit functionality of batch specific unit of measurement. But we saw a note 2012095 where it says that this functionality is not possible for retail / variant material. So can you suggest me a workaround for this.
Hi,
I can tell only one thing. Business requirement yourself is not clear. You have to fix correct proportion. And few material adjustment can be done with the intimation to finance so that correct proportion can be maintained.
By trail and error method you can reduce the difference in material consumption. In SAP logic can be configured but when reality come we need to play important role match system with actual.
You should try with trail and error method.
What is the length of material in a roll? Why you cant try with the length
Regards
Mahe
