Generic Clarification :

We would like to deploy ODP in parallel with traditional delta queue approach

-Is it possible , If yes how

-Not Possible ,what will be alternative

Business Scenario :

1.Existing ECC is getting loaded to Existing BW as of now

2.We installed new BW4HANA 2.0 box

3.As Part of new requirement

A. We need data to be loaded from Existing ECC ( ex : 2LIS_11_VAHDR) to Existing BW as usual and additionally we need to load to New BW/4HANA from Existing ECC ( ex :2LIS_11_VAHDR ) going fwd

B. Same data source ( ex :2LIS_11_VAHDR) which is Non ODP & loading data to Existing BW , Can it be converted as ODP enabled and load data to New BW/4HANA without any implication to Existing BW data loads

C. Can same data source be ODP and Non ODP at same time , how does it will appear in RSA5/RSA6

D.H ow we should achieve Point “B” and what are precaution, Risk and limitation

E. Does existing BW delta will have any impact if we perform point “B

F. Does existing V3 jobs will have any impact if we perform point “B”

ODP and non-ODP are different processes and should not impact each other. I am not sure if you can convert to a ODP mode though. One recommendation is to have the delta queues clear and stopping the collection jobs when the ODP enabled extractor goes into production but downtime would not be required for the same.

Also ODP and Non-ODP will appear in separate folders within the source system tab in BW and since the process of ODP is different from the regular RSA7 - conversion would not be possible. You can recreate the data flows / copy the transformations from one data source to the other and switch to the ODP mode.

As Frédéric Cincet told you, it is possible to do so. Review SAP Note 2232584 - Release of SAP extractors for ODP replication (ODP SAPI). As for replicating the data to BW / 4HANA, it is done in the same way as in a BW over netweaver (Create source system, repeat sources, activate content and repeat data).

It means I can do parallel data loads to existing classic BW Non-ODP data flow and New Data flow BW4HANA.

what happens when I enable ODP for Data source Delta queues.

Please guide me with detail step by step approach for enabling data source as ODP to till replicating Data source in BW4HANA.

I have an existing data flow from ECC -> BW 7.X (which is non-ODP data source).

If I do enable the same data source as ODP and extract to BW4HANA system .

how it will impact the existing data flow (ECC -> BW 7.X).
