Cancel Production order - Field cannot be updated (ODBC -1029)

0 Kudos

Dear experts,

I'm trying to cancel production orders using DTW using the template "OWOR - ProductionOrders.xlt"

I'm sending the DocEntry and for OrderStatus i'm sending boposCancelled.

It gives me failure showing Field cannot be updated (ODBC -1029) as error.

How can I cancel my production orders?

My SAP version is 9.2 PL03

Dear alf.matute,

Once a production order has been linked to an issue to production and a receipt from production and its status changes to closed, it cannot be cancelled. Consider the following scenario;

alf.matute provides 10 oranges and 10 apples to production and issues a production order. The Production executes and returns 2 fruit salads. Physically, alf.matute has 2 fruit salads. You cannot get the oranges and apples back BUT, what you can do, you can perform Stock Transactions → Goods Issue 2 Fruit Salads and Stock Transactions → Goods Receipt 10 oranges 10 apples to fix your stock in case the production document was a mistake in SAP Business One and IF Physically you could actually revert the production back to the raw materials. From there, you can create a new Production order using those raw materials. Make sure on your Goods Issue and Goods Receipt you set your WIP accounts and you have the proper price list depending on your case so your value does not alter from the transaction. (usually 0 based pricelist but again depending on your case).

In the case you rely on Production Orders for BI purposes, what i do in that case, i have a user defined field on Stock Transactions Goods Issue and Goods Receipt that i provide the production order DocEntry. In my BI, I Exclude the production orders that are referenced in those 2 documents thus i know that the production order, despite its closed status, has been cancelled.

Sincerely,
