Hello,
We are currently using HANA 1.0 SPS12 on Eclipse. However, willing to move to Web IDE if we can benefit from the HDI container feature.
Below is my use case:
Currently we are trying to expose certain HANA views for users to consume into Power BI for self service. These users also have access to some BOBJ reports and its corresponding views which they can see or consume, despite us not wanting them to.
I am wondering with the HDI containers can I restrict them to a container (having only the intended views) when they try to connect through Power BI into the HANA system?
Essentially, I am trying to refrain users from seeing or consuming HANA views we do not intend for them to use.
I wasnt able to find anything in this regards on SCN or Google, but wanted to see if the community here can provide some inputs.
Mohammed,
your HANA 1 SP12 is still in XS Classic architecture correct? or are you in XS Advanced? if you are still in classic... the container feature is not in there. Containers are only availabe on XS Advanced. Now, the question is.. how do you prevent users from reading/selecting from your HANA views... then you go into hana roles, but that is a different topic. hope this makes sense
