Hi All,
My company has always used a Fiscal Year Variant without special periods. Implemented 15 years ago.
This Variant has 12 normal periods (from July to June) and 0 special periods.
My questions is if it is possible to add 4 special periods to the variant.
Regards,
Hi Francisco,
I have a project that user having year dependent fiscal year variant and user always edit the month end cutoff day in OB29 and then transfer to production. So far no issue. So i believe it should be fine to add special period to the existing fiscal year variant.
To be safe, you can test posting and reports in development server after you added the special period.
Thanks.

Hi Fransisco,
If they are special periods, there should be no problem adding them.Special periods only affect GL for reporting purpose. If not, follow Mainak suggestions.
Kind Regards

Hi Francisco,
Changing an existing fiscal year variant or period affects other modules- Co, AA, MM, PP, SD, MM.
Risk of Data inconsistency is also there. Hence, SAP doesn't recommend changing the existing fiscal year variant.
