SAP Business Client 6.5 PL 7 - Index Page rename

Hi ,

One of the requirements from my engagement I am working on is they want to add a custom icon in SAP Business Client 6.5 PL 7 for Home click on which should open Index Page.

Also, they want to rename the Index Page to the Home page.

One thing that my research led to was, we can add options in the Menu bar which drops down after we click on the top left corner of Business Client window. But for this, we need to maintain a URL and I am not sure if the Index page has a URL or not.

I couldn't find much information on either of the questions. It would be a huge help if anyone can point me in the right direction.

Kindest Regards,

Varun Sumrani

    Hi Varun,

you can change the icons and edit the tab title (only for pinned pages). Right click on the icon, right click on the title...

Users can make a tab permanently available by pinning it to the tab bar, for example, if they want to use it in a way like their home page. This pinned tab is available the next time the user logs on to the system.

    NO custom icons!

    • Hi Sandra,

Your answer explains why "Change Name" option was always grayed out for me. Once I pinned Index Page, I was able to change the name to Home. This explains a lot. Thanks a ton!

I have few more queries as below:

      1) Pinning a tab has to be done by every individual user. We, in our landscape, use a central common Configuration file (for all BC users) which lists all system connections. Can any setting be maintained in that Configuration file that can pin Index Page, change the name to Home and Icon (from the available icons)?

      2) Can we add any custom buttons in SAP BC 6.5? Like a home button (with home icon) similar to what we have in Chrome or IE browsers.

      3) If the user chose to close Index page, they can always go to Navigation Panel to open other applications/transaction. The issue is, Navigation panel shows transactions or applications only for that one particular work center and does not lists other work center. Is there a way Navigation Panel can list all work centers along with transactions and applications?

      Kindest regards,
