Testing IDOC to File Scenario

Former Member

Hello All -

I have configured the IDOC to the cXML XSD using the IDOC ORDERS.ORDERS05.

Can anyone suggest me how to test the scenario? How do i create the purchase order in R/3 and push it to XI to generate the cXML?

Thanks,

Tirumal

The best way to test an IDOC to file scenario is to use the test tool we19. Once you have configured your partner profile, you can use the test tool and fill the corresponding control and data records and say "outbound processing".

Hi,

You may search for already posted idocs in we02, take the idoc number and post from we19, this will need no settings to be done at we19 like edidc etc,

u may refer,

So this will save time for you and you can test it in a better way,

Alright.

I tried to test the scenario using WE19 after verifying all the RFC destinations on the XI as well as R/3 system.

I chose an existing IDOC and changed the PORT to point to the one that i created.

Now i get an error saying that IDOC is saved but cannot or should not be sent.

Any ideas why i am getting this message. I suspect there is a problem in the Sender and Receiver information.

This is the sender port information for the IDOC:

Port: SAPD01 - Sap r/3 System

Partner No: R3IDES

Part. Type: LS

This is the Receiver port information for the IDOC:

Port : SAPXI - port created in R/3 System

Partner No: Partner created in R/3 for XI while configuring partner profiles.

Part. Type: LI

Any idea why i am getting the error message?

Thanks,

Tirumal

Hi ,

The same scenario i executed recently.

Maintain parner profile correctly.

The one port/ rfc destination which u create in r/3 should point to XI

The one port/ rfc destination which u create in XI should point to R/3.

If u send all the details like rfc destinations and LS created both side we can point out easily where u r facing problem

R else send an email to me. so that i can send detail information on this scenario.

Hi Tirumal,

You can test your Scenario using the following:

1) If you have previously created ORDERS05 Idocs in your R/3 System(you can find out using Tr.Code WE05), you can use Tr.code WE19 (IDocTest Tool) to send the test IDOC. You can edit the Segment EDI_DC40 segment and change the communication port if it is different.

2) If you want test it from your Application System, you have to make sure your R/3 system is configured to send Idocs. You have to use Tr.code ME21 or ME21n to create new purchase order and configure the output communication method to IDOC using Header-->Messages tab in ME21.

You also need to have a communication Port(WE21) and Partner profile defined(WE20)for this outbound message type to send the IDOCs to your XI system.

Hope this helps.

Rgds,

Sam Raju
