Integrate Process Chain with Maestro (a 3rd party scheduler)

Maestro kicks off R3 jobs daily by accepting the job name and job id as parameters...

BW process chains also need to be triggered daily through Maestro...

to achieve this what will be the time/period settings in the start variant of the process chain...

the other concern is whether this setting will clash with the time/period setting of Maestro itself...

if anyone has worked on a similar 3rd party tool please advise...

thanks in advance...

Hi and welcome to the SDN,

may be an idea for you is to create a abap that raises a event. Add this abap to maestro to be scheduled there. Schedule your chain waiting for the event raised by the abap.

Hi,

You don't have to put the start date and time when you jobs will be kicked off by maestro.

In Maestro basis will create a chain which will trigger at the specifice time.

Usually the setup is they will setup the r/3 job and then BW job is kicked off.

There's no dependencies between the two. But if required can be setup That if r/3 finished then kickoff the bw job.

Hope it helps

Hi,

if Maestro really can start R3 jobs, than your chains should be set to : start immediately
