how to setup an email notification when the broadcast report fails in C4C

The broadcast functionality within C4C reports allows the administrator to email reports on a periodic basis to single/ multiple users. At times this broadcast fails and the recipient does not get the reports. the user has to login to C4C and check the broadcast logs to understand the reason behind the broadcast failure.

I would like to know if an email notification can be set up such that whenever the broadcast fails, the recipients or the creator receives an email stating that the particular broadcast has failed.

highly appreciate for any suggestions / ideas / solutions.

Hi Ajith.

I do understand your concern, but the system is only capable of register that email was sent to the email receipt successfully. Note that through network you can have many other external things that can be cause for the final receipt to not receive this email. Firewalls or email server down are the two biggest causes as per my experience. Often cases the firewall stops sap emails, and rule to ensure it will be accepted is necessary.
Other cases that are minor, is when the administrator hasn't registered the emails of the users they are trying to send to, note it is necessary to be registered in the system, just adding the e-mail there will not allow you to send the broadcast because the system requires it to be registered as security measure.

Hello Ajith Nair,

I hope you are doing fine.

Currently there is no available functionality which sends the logs to the broadcast creator. The only way to check out if a broadcast has been successfully sent is by going to Broadcasts work center view, under Business Analytics work center, and checking theirs logs.

However, this sounds as a good business requirement, which you could address to SAP Customer Influences. 🙂

Thank you for sharing this information.

I am in the process of analyzing the feasibility of some external application which can undertake this monitoring activity. as part of this I have set up a Broadcast where I am the recipient for a standard report. it is scheduled to take place daily on weekdays and have checked the user specific box. In the last broadcast tab it shows that Email has been sent successfully to my email id and it shows the same in the log but I have not yet received the email with the report. so my question is:

Even if the log shows that the email has been sent, is there any other way to confirm whether the email was sent or not with any error message if not sent.

I have followed the steps mentioned in the SAP help document for setting up a broadcast. I have assigned my user business role to this report.

Highly appreciate if you could share your thoughts / advise regarding this.
