How to display CDS details in SAP S/4HANA Cloud

Hello experts,

is there a way to display details for CDS view definition in SAP S/4HANA Cloud?

Especially for entries from CDS views starting with a P_*, like P_CNSLDTNDATAWCNSLDTNLOGICYTD

As per my understanding this is not supported. And if there is no access to a S4/HANA with Eclispe it seems to me inpossible.

Any useful comments?

Thanks.

Dirk

Hi, dirk.obert,

You can look at the definition of the CDS view in the View Browser app. See the link here App ID F2170.

To display the entries, the CDS view type should be - Consumption and in Released status. In the View Browser app, you can find this option. See screenshot.

In S4H, since you can use ADT tools in Eclipse, you would also be able to look into the coding.

Hope this helps!

Namaste Rohit,

wow, I did not expect to get an answer from the RIG team, I´m really pleased.

Yes I know how to check with Eclipse or trx. SDDLAR with S4H, but if I do not have access to the system like S4H Cloud (e.g. a Partner Demo System) I can´t use these tools as per my understanding.

Many thanks for your link to the Fiori Apps Library as well.

Regards,

Dirk

Dear Rohit,

thanks for your clarification:

As SAP S/4HANA Cloud is a subscription like service, where the user only gets access to the frontend, that is Fiori Launchpad and backend access is not provided. So in the essence, if you are a S4HC user, you will not have an option to connect your backend system via Eclipse. Which essentially means that you will not be able to see the code of the ABAP CDS view.

One option you can try though. If this CDS is available in S4H On-Premise (you have access to), then you can connect your on-premise version using Eclipse and see the definition.

Bahut accha!

Dhanyavaad,

Dirk
