Settling to AuC from Project Task

Hi,

I have a project task which I want to settle to an Asset Under Construction in SAP Business ByDesign. Costs posted to this project task after I have assigned it to an AuC (in the Costs and Revenue workcenter) are immediately settled to the AuC. Costs posted before the accounting department created and assigned the AuC do however not get settled to the AuC.

How can I trigger these settlements? I expected them to be posted by running a Fixed Asset Settlement Run of type "Project Task to Fixed Asset(s)", but nothing happens. Documentation indicates that this settlement type is supposed to go straight from Project Task to Asset (not via AuC). Settlement rules on project tasks do not allow assignment of an AuC though, so this does not work.

Grateful for advice on this - how can I calculate and post settlements of costs already accumulated on a project task after having assigned an AuC?

Hello,

If you create a project and assign AuC to the Project, At the time of cost Posting, system automatically creates JE of type Settlement to transfer the cost from the project to cost center.

However as you correctly pointed, If the Asset (AuC) was not assigned to the Project at the time of Cost posting then this Automatic creation Journal entry does not happen due to Missign AuC assignment.

To transfer the cost from the project to AuC, You need to create the manual Posting on the fixed asset.

1) fixed Asset work center

2) Select the AuC

3) Click on Manual Posting and select Acquisition

4) on Manual Posting - Acquisition screen, In Section Offsetting Account Assignment, Change the Cost Object type to Project (Direct cost Project) and Provide a Project task.

5) fill in the remaining details and post the document..
