Type of preference document for Customs Processing

Hi, could someone explain the use of Type of preference document for Customs Processing. We see this assigned to a duty rate and the country group and legal regulation combination in table /SAPSLL/LC_CUSB2.

As I understand it from testing, the Type of preference document determines what country group and duty rate will be applied to the Customs Document. When I use the simulation in GTS, if put blank in the Type of preference document, there is an applicable duty calculated. If I put "D" in the Type of preference document field, there is a zero duty applied. So obviously this field determines how the duty will be calculated. However, can someone give me more details about this concept? There is no documentation anywhere on this.

    Hi Z C,

If you look at the entries for Document Category 'CUIP' in the Code List 'PAPTY', and compare with the Preference Duty Rates in table /SAPSLL/LC_CUSB2, then I think you should be able to work out the logic.

    Hope that helps.

    Regards,
    Dave
