SNP Optimizer Infeasible Error Only in foreground--Not in Background

Dears

When I run SNP optimizer in the background (that starts in immediate bucket + ends 52 buckets more) I do NOT get any infeasible error. When I run the same in foreground.. same selection, same view, same optimization profile, I get an infeasible error.

I know there are fixed orders and I know the SNP optim profile is set to consider everything as a hard constraint, but what I wish to know is what does 'Success' the the background (process chain) means when it fails in the foreground (means does not write results)

Thanks

Amit

Hello,

Please get the latest Optimizer engine implemented and then try it again. It may help to solve the issue of run time limit reached and infeasible solution.

May be run time could be a reason for backround and foreground run, if you are using a bound profile, remove unnecessary bounds, or do not use the bound profile at all.

System profile parameter rdisp/max_wprun_time that limit is always in effect for dialog work processes. No such limit applies to background work processes. Background work processes assign memory differently to dialog work processes. In this way background work processes can be use as much allocated memory as necessary to process the often large amounts of data in the background processing.

Please refer SAP help document on it

Background Work Processes

Please refer SAP notes,

1450405 - Termination: Infeasible problem

2471278 - Optimizer run ends with "Infeasible problem" error - SAPAPO/SNPOPT285

Besides the 'engine' I assure you that the customers data isn't that consistent.. penalties, storage costs, shipping costs etc are conflicting each other even sans the Optimizer. It is a lot of clean up work. There are semi finished products with inventories and fixed process orders that can last a decade! .. customer and distribution demand is pittance. May be they want to sell it elsewhere just like that without finishing it.

Thanks Rupesh,

Precisely seems to be the same.

How can I know 0.5% of what you know ? 🙂

Earlier today I read some stuff again written by you. Tons of it. Your are a brilliant humane consultant.

Thanks
