Hello everybody,
this question is about the area of business analysis. we want to create relative selections with a value that shows us tickets older than 2 weeks.
We have created a relative selection, unfortunately we have to choose a specific date for it.
Example. Today (28.03.2019) 2 weeks ago therefore 14.03.2019
We have entered this date in the relative selection. Is it possible that the relative selection dynamically takes the value that is older than 2 weeks from the current date?
Thank you for your feedback
Regards Tamara
Hi Tamara,
I've seen this question asked a few times, and we have the same requirement ourselves, but to my knowledge, this requirement to create a dynamic relative selection is currently not offered. I would check the Idea Place and if you can't find such a suggested improvement, add it!
The closest possible option is to "Save Time Characteristics as Relative" when saving a Report Selection. This functionality works as follows:
When creating the Selection, you enter a fixed date/date range, check the "Save Time Characteristics as Relative" checkbox, and save. Then, whenever the report is opened, C4C calculates the offset from the date the Selection was created to today's date and adjusts the range accordingly.
So for your case "older than two weeks," you could create a date range of Jan. 1 2000 --> Today and save as relative. Then when you open the report in one month, the selection instead will be Feb. 1 2000 --> Today. It's not a perfect solution, but it's the best workaround I know.
As a final note, the reason I bolded the points about creation of the Selection is that the "Time Relative" calculation always takes the Selection creation date not Changed On date. So, if you mistakenly enter the wrong date range to start, you need to delete the selection entirely and create a new one.
Hopefully someone can prove me wrong, as I would like this functionality as well, but if not, I hope the workaround is helpful.
Best Regards,
Brian

Hi Tamara,
Instead of overwriting the existing selection, please save a new relative selection and enter a new name for it. The date characteristic will display the correct date when you open the report again.
