BEx Query to oData SAPUI5 Application

Dears,
let's say I would like to have a BEx query explorer / viewer in SAPUI5. Means that I would set a query up as an oData service and link to this app. In the app I would like to filter the data, select dimensions and measures, and then show data in charts and so on.

I can do this manually that I can set up the list of dimensions and measures from the query and then filter the oData service, but how do I do this generic? Is it posible to read the $metadata or somehow? I would like to do an app similar to BEx Query Preview but using the SAPUI5 Framework.
