Crystal Report Roadmap and improvements

Hello everyone !

We are using an old version of crystal report and are willing to go a higher version.

We have many questions regarding crystal report evolution.

- We have like 100 different reports. How can we update them quicly to the new version of Crystal report ? (2008 -> 2016)

- The last release was done in May 2018, where can we find the roadmap of crystal report ? When do you plan to have a new release ?

- Will the new release be an extension of crystal report 2016 or a new one ?

- .Net core 2.0 was not enough to support crystal report as you said in lots of reports. What about .Net core 3.0 ? Microsoft is emphasing a lot on there .Net Core framework. With 3.0 you can not say anymore that this is a light version.

- Visual Studio 2019 will soon be up and running, will crystal report be avaihable in this next version ?

Thanks for your time,

Best Regards !

Hi,

I come back to you with a new question.

Do you plan to release a new version of Crystal report ?

Rigth now there is Crystal report 2016, do you plan to release a crystal report 2020 or something like that ?

If we purchase a crystal report 2016 key, will we have access to all future release ?

Best regards,

Remi

Try searching on help.sap.com for the road map, if it's available you'll find it there.

Core is not going to be supported, we still need the full framework.

I tired SP 24 in VS 2019 and it works, it's not integrated into it though but it's on the road map for SP 25.

When you say Core is not going to be supported, you mean never? I know that other reporting frameworks, Telerik and Syncfusion to name a few, already have such support. Why is SAP making a decision not to support framework that Microsoft sees as the future? Seems like technically this is possible, just requires a major re-write, no? And if so, why not take that on to benefit many customers?

Thanks.
