Hello SDNers,
Is it true that PCA extractor does not give units or currencies, except a default zxxx unit?
If so, how can units or currencies be addressed after loading into BW?
Your advice would be much appreciated.
Regards,
Suzie Fernando
Hi Suzie,
Welcome to SDN.
Well the PCA extractors do give the units/currencies for the relevant key figures. For example check the below link for details on one of the PCA datasource.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/5d/ac7d8082a27b438b026495593821b1/frameset.htm
The fields CURRUNIT, RTCUR for currency key should give you the desired units.
Hope it helps.

Dear Anurag,
I have an existing extractor used for reports.
Now, there is a requirement to extract more details - werks.
This new field required is not found in standard PCA2 extractor.
Can I use GLPCT to extract the required data? GLPCT contains the werks field. But I am not sure how to determine if this table is appropriate as compared to GLPCA.
Regards,
Suzie
Hi Suzie,
To get the field WERKS_D, you can use the standard datasource 0EC_PCA_1, if you are not looking for statistical data.
Refer to the below link for more details.

Hope it helps.
Dear Anurag,
Yes, statistical data is required.
Thus, it seems that I can only use a generic extractor.
But I am not sure how totals table GLPCT is different than line items table GLPCA. Does it mean that totals is an aggregation of line items? Based on PCA2, is it more GLPCT than GLPCA? Seems that its more GLPCT.
I need statistical data, by period and plant at least.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Suzie
