How long term inspection works

Hi Everyone,

I have gone through many questions and the solution post on forums but didn't found anything concrete. That is the reason I am posting this question

My requirement is, I want to record the result after Usage decision has been made in the system.

Test scenario I worked.

I have created two MIC's, one with short term inspection and another with long term inspection. I have added this MIC's, in my inspection plan. Now I am creating a manual inspection lot with inspection type 89, at the time of result recording, I entered the parameters result of short term inspection and kept the parameter of long term inspection blank. I saved the result, Now I am doing UD. After the UD has been performed now I want to record the result of Long term inspection when I am going to record the result in QE01, I am unable to record it.

Can someone help to achieve the requirement, Also I want to add How can a user differentiate between Short term and Long term characteristic while result recording

Regards

You might find it beneficial to segregate the long term characteristics to their own unique operation.

Theoretically, if you have true short and long term characteristics, they can be separated without significantly affecting the results recording process since the recording of results will be done at very different times.

In your inspection plan. Create two operations.

Operation 0010 - Required short-term characteristics

Operation 0020 - Long-term characteristics.

Put the characteristics under the appropriate operation.

This is fairly simple and standard SAP.

When you go into QE01 it should ask "Do you want to carry out long term inspection?" If you click yes you can enter results.

I don't think the inspector can see that a test is set to Long Term while recording results, but you can see in the QA32 worklist how many short term tests are outstanding and how many long term tests are outstanding. If you check in QA32 and it says there are no Long Term tests oustanding, then there is something wrong with the way you setup the MIC.

Hi Sara,

Thanks for the reply,

But, where can I see in QA32, that whether MIC's are short term or Long term ??

Can you please explain in detail.

Hi Tejas, you just add 'short term char' and 'long term char' to your layout. When you run a search in QA32 it will return a list of inspection lots. For each inspection lot it will show you how many short term tests are outstanding and how many long term tests are outstanding.
