Best practice around setting up Intended use codes in SAP Global Trade System (GTS)

Hi All,

Am evaluating options to setup FDA intended usage codes in GTS system . Was wondering if there is a proposed best practice on how the setup should be done (similar to Additional Customs Tariff - 98/99 chapter on transactions).

Looking forward for your feedback from existing implementation experience.

Jasmit, there can be many ways to setup the classification codes. May I know what do you plan to use it for.

Hi Nishant,We plan to use it for US imports filings (Entry summary message set).

Hello Jasmit,

First, define numbering scheme for FDA classification here:

Define Numbering Scheme for FDA Classification

Then assign the numbering scheme to legal regulation ACE:

Assign Numbering Schemes to Legal Regulations of the Application Areas

Load the FDA Product Codes either manually or via XML file using transactions (

/SAPSLL/LLNS_107 and /SAPSLL/LLNS_UPL107). Then assign the FDA classification to the material. Regards, Satish
