What if integration between SuccesFactors and S/4HANA Cloud is done in a later phase ?

We are going life with Employee Central after S/4HANA Cloud.

How can I assure that the integration will go smooth if my users, employees and business partners are already created in S/4HANA ?

How can I assure that the already created users will not be duplicated when activated and that changes in Emplyee Central will update the correct employee ?

is there any documentation available on this topic?

Kind Regards

Hi Bernard Sohier,

There's an employee key mapping table whcih needs to be populated before you switch on the replication from SAP SFSF EC. This table will prevent from creating duplicate users. Let me know in case you need more information.

Hi Bernard,

Adding to the clarification Samir gave you, once you would start with the replication of employee data from SF EC to S/4HANA Cloud, then you would be able to "reuse" existing employee data in S/4HANA Cloud (which was previously loaded via Import Employee app) as long as these employees have the exact same identifiers like Person External ID, etc. (respecting lower/upper case too)

Additionally to consider here is that, if the data received from SF corresponds to a different company code, you would get a new employment entry (and therefore a new PERNR) generated for the employee which will be visible from Employee Fact Sheet in S/4. For such scenarios you may want to consider some review or adjustments over the data.

Best regards,

Hi Bernard,

In the JB1 Setup guide you can find the following excerpt in chapter 2.1 Prerequisites:

Employee Import
There are S/4HANA Cloud customers who first uploaded employee data with the Import Employee app and are later shifting to an integrated scenario with employee data coming from SuccessFactors. For a fully supported and correct behavior it is a prerequisite that all employees have been replicated from EC to get the data consistent again in S/4HANA Cloud, as migrating part of the population only and leaving the rest not connected to EC is not valid. For further information, please refer to SAP KBA 2555311 - FAQ - Import Employees app.

Hope this will answer your question.

Best
