Custom reports

Hi,

For our customer I need to setup following custom report:

Total visits with Total Accounts per Customer Classification (=custom field) of last/current year

The goal is to see per customer classification (=custom field) the number of accounts & visits.

I don't know which data source to use (combined, inner join or left outer joint). And secondly I'm not sure if it's possible to have 2 different counters in one report?

For example, when I choose for a left outer join Account Master Data (anchor) and Visit Header Data, then I have only the counter key figure for Visits... But I also need a counter key figure for Accounts.

I really hope that someone can help me.

Many thanks in advance!

Hello Anne.

Understanding how the Join condition works is very crucial for requirement that involves building custom Data Source. For this matter I would advice you to check the Blog Understanding Data Sources , the methodology and examples are very clear and user friendly. It will make you understand little bit more of which one would you need for this, it will also make clear why aren't you receiving the counters that you want.

Please keep in mind that some Key Figures are not allowed for end-user personalization, hence, they won't be added in the join. However, I don't think it is the case.
Remember that you can have Custom Key Figure created to count accordingly with your requirement, there is no restriction to limit the counter as long as I know.

Hope it helps.

Best Regards.
