Cost Center field is Blank in PO/PR with Account Assignment Category A 'Assets'

In S4HANA 1809 system when creating PR (ME51N) & PO (ME21N) with Asset as Account Assignment Category, Cost Center is not getting populated in Account Assignment Tab. However, Controlling Area gets populated and Fund Center also gets derived from FMDERIVE rule based on Cost Center in Asset Master Record. IS-PSM - Fund Management is active.

Following asset related configurations are maintained correctly for Cost Center:

IMG > Financial Accounting > Asset Accounting > Integration with General Ledger Accounting > Additional Account Assignment > Activate Additional Account Assignment

IMG > Financial Accounting > Asset Accounting > Integration with General Ledger Accounting > Additional Account Assignment > Specify Account Assignment Types for Account Assignment Objects

Also, in TCode OEM9 in Account Assignment Category 'A' - Cost Center field is set as Optional

I referred and tried steps in SAP Notes 684659 & 2274763 but no luck

Hi Sudarshan,

If the Account Assignment Category is A, then the Asset Number will be mandatory. Why do you need a Cost center field there?

For your asset acquisitions, Profit center is mandatory and them same will be populated from the Asset Master Record based on the Cost center assigned in it.

This derivation happens based on the setting in ACSET.

For depreciation postings, the Cost center is mandatory and the same will be picked from your Asset Master.

Anyhow, did you check the Field status of the Account Assignment Category A in OME9? The Cost center should be either Optional, Mandatory to input it in ME21N.

If not, check and enable it based on your requirement. See the attached screen shot.

Thanks for your suggestion. I did try updating Account Assignment Category A in OME9 as Optional, still Cost Center didn't get derived.
